Summary:
Under the direction of the Department Manager, the Staff Nurse II independently uses the nursing process to safely, therapeutically and efficiently care for a group of patients.
Uses information from a variety of sources to assess, plan implement and evaluate the results of patient care.
Essential Functions:
Demonstrates the ability to use all components of the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating care to meet the patient needs.
Assessment:
o Assesses patients according to department standards and anticipates changes in patients' status.
o Identifies obvious as well as subtle patient problems and/or abnormal assessments and appropriately reports and resolves.
o PRN (Procedure and Resources Nurse) Admit Nurse:
o Reviews past medical history.
o Assesses vital signs, respiratory status and EKGs during transport.
o Completes ongoing assessments during transports.
o Completes medication reconciliation on admission.
o SPRN (Special Procedure Resource Nurse):
o Assess vital signs, respiratory status and EKGs during transport.
o Completes ongoing assessments during transports.
Planning:
o Develops plan of care based on age specific assessment.
o Involves patient and family and interdisciplinary resource to develop and revise plan of care.
o Uses action plans, goals and time frames to produce desired patient outcomes.
o PRN (Procedure and Resources Nurse) Admit Nurse:
o Triages requests and responds to most critical request first.
o Plans for transport of patient through collaboration with other departments (MRI, CT, RT).
o SPRN (Special Procedure Resource Nurse):
o Plan for transport of staff by contacting other departments to plan for transport (Respiratory, CT, MRI, ED etc.
).
o Triages requests and responds to most critical request first.
Implementing Care:
o Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age specific patient's needs, including teaching and discharge planning.
Documents care appropriately.
o Provides assistance to others in implementing complex care.
o Administers medications and treatments according to hospital policy and procedure and accepted standards of age specific care and department standards.
o Communicates effectively with physicians, patients and families within their age specific categories, providing necessary information from the patient, family, other nurses, physicians and allied health care professionals.
o Promotes a climate in which patients/families may act in their own interest and intervenes when they are unable to do so.
o PICC/PRN (Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter, Procedure and Resources Nurse):
o Evaluates and inserts PICC lines.
o PRN (Procedure and Resources Nurse) Admit Nurse:
o Evaluates vascular access function, care and maintenance.
o Provides IV insertion using ultrasound technology.
o Rounds frequently on units to assist with patient care.
o Completed ongoing documentation on extended transports.
o Resource, troubleshoots and accesses portacaths.
o Completes admission documentation.
o SPRN (Special Procedure Resource Nurse):
o Adjusts and titrates medications per order.
o Monitors patients during procedures and provides critical care needs as needed.
o Resource, troubleshoots and accesses portacaths.
o Provides IV insertion using ultrasound technology.
o Rounds frequently on units to assist with patient care.
o Completed ongoing documentation on extended transports.
Evaluating Care:
o Assesses, reassesses and evaluates patient response to care.
o Participates with patient/family and other healthcare provided in evaluation of patient outcomes.

Minimum Position
Qualifications:
Experience :
6 months of experience as a RN in a health care setting Licenses/Certifications:
Current California RN licensure.
BLS within 60 days of hire.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
